Sustainable Sunshine Coast Community Forum

The Bligh government wants to fast-track the development of Greenfield sites on the Sunshine Coast – but with no commitment to additional infrastructure. Can our roads, public transport, health and community services cope with 75,000 more people? Are you concerned about protecting our environment and lifestyle?

As the Sunshine Coast Environment Council rightly points out: “This is not just about infrastructure. It is more about sustainable infrastructure such as integrated public transport systems, decentralised water, renewable energy and sustainable building design and construction and community services. Simply doing business as usual and building more roads is not the answer!”

    Hi Poosselieme,
thanks for your comment. If you are on the Sunshine Coast, you might also want to have a talk to Liza Neil in Caloundra. For her details see Caloundra Carbon Action Bulk Purchase.

Or if you are in Buderim Lesley Gillett from the (Buderim Solar Bulk Buying Initiative). They are both community leaders who are active in this area.

If you are looking for an online forum, I can suggest the Envirotalk Forum.

If I can help you in any other way, please let me know.
